A Prefeitura de Sidrolândia, por meio da Fundação Municipal de Esporte, celebrou mais um importante momento para o esporte local no último sábado (2026-05-02 11:31:58 -0300), quando o município sediou a 1ª etapa do Campeonato Sul Matogrossense de Karatê. Realizado no Ginásio Olegário da Costa Machado, o evento reuniu atletas, familiares e admiradores da modalidade ao longo de todo o dia.

A competição teve início às 7h e contou com mais de 600 inscrições de associações de diversas cidades do estado, consolidando a etapa como uma das maiores da temporada. As disputas foram marcadas por técnica, concentração, respeito e espírito esportivo, valores tradicionalmente ligados ao karatê.

During the program, the public followed confrontations in 220 categories, across both male and female napes, encompassing different age ranges. Participants ranged from children starting at 5 years old to athletes in the master category, designed for competitors above 50 years of age. Representing the municipality, 42 athletes from the Associação Olímpica de Sidrolândia participated in the event. The participants are from significant local sports initiatives such as the Formando Vencedores, ARCS and Academia projects, which contribute to the formation of young Sidrolandenses.

In the team classification general, Sidrolândia ranked 5th in the state, achieving a total of 10 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 24 bronze medals. This result highlights the strength of local sports and the work developed with athletes from the city.

The event was part of the official calendar of the Federation of Karatê de Mato Grosso do Sul (FKMS) and received support from the entity, as well as the participation of Senseis Vilson Rios e Flávio Jara Garcia, who also acted as referees during the competition. The work of the local team was fundamental for Sidrolândia to receive the state event.

The city administration congratulated all athletes, organizers, technical teams, referees and families involved in another important sporting achievement in the municipality.
